For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK Data Protection Act 2018, Scalar Vault is the Data Controller for information collected directly through this Site (such as website analytics).

We collect information in two ways:

A. Information You Provide Voluntarily:

• Inquiries: If you contact us via email or a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message regarding specific assets.
• Purchase Data: We do not collect or store your credit card or financial information. All transactions are processed by trusted third-party platforms (see Section 3).

B. Information Collected Automatically (Google Analytics):When you visit our Site, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior patterns. This includes:

• Online Identifiers: IP address (processed to determine general location, then discarded), Client ID (a random string of numbers to identify your browser), and Session ID.
• Usage Data: Pages viewed, time spent on site, referral sources (e.g., if you clicked a link from Google or Twitter), and device type (mobile vs. desktop).

Important: We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize data where possible. We do not use "User-Provided Data" features to upload your personal emails or phone numbers to Google for ad targeting.

We utilize trusted third-party platforms to handle high-value domain name sales and secure transfers. We do not have access to your payment details.

• Atom.com: For domains listed via the Atom platform, checkout and escrow are handled entirely by Atom. Their privacy policy governs the transaction.
• Other Marketplaces: If a specific asset is purchased via Sedo, Afternic, or Dan.com, their respective privacy policies apply.

Under the UK GDPR, we process your data based on:

• Consent: We rely on your consent to place non-essential cookies (Analytics) on your device. You may withdraw this consent at any time via the cookie banner.
• Legitimate Interests: To run our business, prevent fraud, and improve website security.
• Contract: To fulfill our obligations if you enter into an agreement to purchase a digital asset.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service Providers: Google (for Analytics) and Atom (for hosting the marketplace interface).
• Legal Obligations: If required by law enforcement or to protect our legal rights.
• Business Transfers: If Scalar Vault is sold or merged, visitor data may be transferred to the new owner.

Our website hosting and Google Analytics servers may process data in the United States. We rely on adequacy decisions (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure your data remains protected to UK/EU standards.

Depending on your location (UK, EU, California, etc.), you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your data (e.g., reset your Analytics ID).
• Opt-Out: You can opt-out of Google Analytics tracking at any time (see Section 8).

We use cookies to make our Site work and to understand traffic.

• Essential Cookies: Required for the Atom platform to function (e.g., keeping items in a cart).
• Analytics Cookies (Google): These help us measure how many visionaries visit our vault.
• Control: You can accept or decline these via the Cookie Banner on our site.
• Google Opt-Out: You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We retain Analytics data for 14 months (the standard Google Analytics retention period), after which it is automatically deleted. Correspondence (emails) is retained as long as necessary for business records or legal compliance (typically 6-7 years).
